I focus on storytelling for social good: sharing the positive stories of change that aren't as often picked up by larger media organizations. By providing a platform for these solutions, I drive attention, investment, and support to these projects. A skilled and thoughtful interviewer, I have had the privilege to learn from and share the stories of hundreds of folks from more than 20 countries.

Lately, I enjoy writing stories that lie at the intersection of entrepreneurship, urban design, community development, and social and environmental justice. An avid cyclist and traveller, I also love writing about bike culture around the world.

I’m a graduate of Carleton University’s bachelor of journalism program in Ottawa, Canada.

Planetary Health Case Studies

The Interconnectedness of People and Planet: Learning from Māori Worldviews

Of all 10 case studies written for Planetary Health Case Studies: An Anthology of Solutions, this is the one that makes me most proud—in part because it was the most challenging to report and write. It demanded that I question my own worldviews and western upbringing in order to thoughtfully share Māori views on the fluidity between individual, family, and the environment.

I am grateful for the trust instilled in me by the folks I met, and it’s my sincere hope that the students who read these words begin to recognize the importance of meaningful relationship-building and partnership with Indigenous communities.

Dams and Disease: An Ecological Solution to Schistosomiasis in Senegal

One of the 10 case studies written for the Planetary Health Alliance, a Harvard University-based organization. Travel to the Senegal River Basin where a dam brought much-needed benefits for farmers upstream—but also had unintended consequences for human health.

The audience for these cases is undergraduate and graduate students studying environmental science, public health, epidemiology, and policy.
